Two Paper-cut Marvellous Spatuletail hummingbirds (Loddigesia mirabilis) mounted inside a glass bell jar.
The Marvellous Spatuletail is a rare hummingbird found in just a few small areas of north-western Peru. It is named for the male’s bizarre, highly elongated outer tail feathers, which end in blue discs or ‘spatules’.
The piece measures 12 x 12 x 21cm and all the paper has been cut and sculpted by hand.
